Thanks for the recognition

Every time my nieces and nephews has projects and assignments at school, I always help them if they asked me. This is because I see myself in them back when I was still studying. I do not have anyone to help me do my assignments, homework and projects. My father is busy at work, my mother passed away when I was nine (9), and my brothers and sister are busy with their own issues. There are times that I cry because no one is helping me. But I do not have regrets then because it made me stronger and better person. I learned to be independent at early age.

My experiences back then isn’t easy, that is why I always there to lend a hand to my nieces and nephews. My niece who is 12 years old always shares to me her life at school and what they do. I am always updated to be exact. Just recently, she told me that their teacher asked them to make an essay and the them is, “the person they are thankful for”. The niece told me that her essay is all about me. I am speechless and so touch. I didn’t know that the niece is always thankful for every thing that I did to her. Well, she is not vocal so I am surprised. Anyways, thank you niece for the recognition. I am not expecting it. I am really touch!

Her 12th Birthday

My niece Nana turns 12 yesterday. I still can’t believe that she is getting older and taller. Her 12th birthday celebration is a simple one. We just had simple dinner at home with two invited family friends. Her father cooked her favorite foods. It was her first ever birthday celebration without care and ice cream. It is because she is still taking medicines. The doctor said that she is not allowed to eat cakes, chocolates, ice cream and many more while she is in medication. Of course she does not like it, but it is her fault. We rushed her to the hospital last Sunday due to severe stomach pain and vomiting.

The celebration is still memorable because she got a surprised present from her mommy (her aunt, my older sister). We wish her well, good health, happy life, and be a responsible human being. I told her that she is not getting any younger. It is the time to be responsible at home as well. No more playing outside, instead do some household chores at home. I got a frowning face from her and I am not affected because I am used to it. Whether she like it or not, I will still teach her to do household chores and act like a lady. Hopefully she will cooperate because if she will not, she will get what she deserves. haha!

Again, Happy Birthday to my niece I pray for more birthdays to come. Love you!

Telling her my high school experiences

My niece is now in Grade 7 (intermediate level, high school). She will be in new environment, new people to meet and meeting new sets of friends. She is very much excited with her new school uniforms and her new school. I am pretty sure that my niece will have a wonderful experience as she is in her third level of education. They say that high school life in the wonderful life of being a student. It is exciting and challenging level of a student life I must say for you will be experiencing the best and the worse of it. The key is stay focus and embrace every challenges with a smile.

The niece is very open telling me about the happenings at school. She is like a reporter telling me everything when she arrives home from school. I am flattered because she is telling me everything. I can sense that she is enjoying her high school life, though it is too early to tell because classes has just started. More experiences to come her way. Since she is telling me everything, I also told her my high school experiences. I am telling her the best and the worse for her to have an idea if the same situation happens to her. I am sharing it to make her aware so when the worse happens, she is ready to face it. I wish the niece good luck and hope for the best!

Waiting for the examination result

Last Monday was the final examination for the DOST (Department of Science and Technology) scholarship that my niece is taking. She passed the first examination. The result of the final examination will come out in two weeks. We are praying that the niece pass because to be one of the DOST scholars has lots of privileged. Whatever the outcome is, we are still proud of her. We are not expecting anything at all because she did not study even if we always told her to study a little. We are panicking and she is not. How is that?LOL

Just like her aunt (my older sister), she believes in herself that she can answer the questioner well. Studying would make her stressed. She wants to enjoy than torturing herself. Very difficult attitude I must say. But on the case of my older sister, it is effective. I really do hope that luck is on my niece’s side. I asked her when she got home after the examination of how was it, she just answer me, “is it very difficult” but she is doing her best. Hopefully we will get positive result after two weeks. Good luck to my niece and we hope she will get the DOST scholarship!

Qualify to take the scholarship examination

Next year, the nieces will step another level of her study. She will be in the high school level, new school, new environment, new people, new classmates and new friends to meet. Though she has already decided of what school she will like to enroll next year, my sister wants her to try another school and take scholarship examination. We want her to try her luck in private school where offers full scholarship. First, she doesn’t like the idea for she has already decided of what school she will be going to next year. However, she changes her mind because some of her classmates and friends are trying their luck too.

The nieces have filled up the application/registration form and have submitted the requirements to the certain private school that she likes. We are hoping that she qualifies to take the scholarship examination. Yesterday, the niece told us that she qualifies to take the scholarship examination. It was indeed good news to the family. We do hope that she will pass the examination which will be on the 4th of October, 2014. The school she picked is the school that the sister wants her to try. Hopefully she will passed the examination and be one of the full scholar student. Good luck to my niece and God bless always!
